Akoya Pearls
The first type of cultured pearl, Akoya pearls are cultured in the Akoya oyster. Found mostly in and around Japan, the pearls from Akoya oysters are considered the classic pearl. Generally white or cream colored, Akoya pearls can sometimes feature hints of rose, silver, and blue.
