Depth
Depth

The depth of a diamond can give the illusion of a large size and also determines the amount of light that is reflected back to the eye. The way a diamond is cut determines the depth. If a diamond is cut too shallow, light will pass through the stone. If it is cut too deep, the light will become lost in the stone. In both cases, the poor cut will result in a diminished brilliance.
