JEWELRY EDUCATION > GLOSSARY > Round Cut
Classic and timeless, this cut is the traditional diamond cut seen in countless designs. The round cut diamond seen in modern designs is typically not a "traditional" round cut. More often a round diamond is a "round brilliant" cut, an updated, modern version of the round cut developed by Marcel Tolkowsky in 1919. This cut features more facets than its predecessor and has become the most common diamond cut.
