Wine Glass Shapes

There are two basic shapes of wine glasses: red and white.

The white wine glass is typically what people think about when they think of a wine glass shape. These can be used as all-purpose glasses and are the typical go-to glass in most homes.

A glass created for red wine is designed specifically to enhance the red wine experience. A large, flat bowl and full shape are used to aerate the wine, allowing it to develop a full, rich flavor, while a larger opening puts the drinker's nose directly in the glass to enjoy the rich aromas of the wine. White wine glasses have smaller openings to concentrate their lighter aromas.
