Housewives: Not Desperate for Desirable Dinnerware
The Desperate Housewives are famous for airing all of their dirty laundry on primetime television, and while you might not envy them their very dirty secrets, no one can deny that these ladies have a sense for style. Each housewife has her own flare for fashion and her home reflects these choices perfectly. The tableware and tabletop items of the Desperate Housewives are classy and beautiful, from long stem crystal goblets to antique Spode china. A deeper look into the show with a keen eye for artistic tableware has revealed a few more secrets about these over-the-top queens of suburbia.

At Michael C. Fina we have a great love for all things beautiful. We delved into the hit series to reveal just what the ladies of Wisteria Lane spruce their homes up with. Although we didn’t find gems for everyone, it was easy to imagine what lovely items might be found in their dining rooms. Enjoy checking out our picks, we enjoyed finding them!

test Bree Van de Kamp
Bree Van de Kamp is the housewife known as Martha Stewart on steroids, which isn’t such a bad thing when is comes to picking out beautiful and classic pieces for the home. Bree’s Spode pattern, "Florence," is used during her many fancy dinners that generally end in unsavory sarcasm from her difficult children. At least the plates are beautiful! Spode no longer makes this lovely pattern, but several similar Spode patterns can have the same crowd pleasing effect. Check out:

bbbbb Edie Britt
Edie is probably the most unsavory of all the housewives, and her trappings often reflect that. Sometimes, however, she shows an eye for simplicity and femininity. The subtle beauty of her Orrefors clock reveals a bit of her soft side that is so rarely seen on the show. Orrefors crystal and glassware is stunning and classy. View a few more designs that would be at home in Edie’s bar to see if you agree with her sense of style:

  Gabrielle Lang (Solis, Marquez)
fff Gabby is beautiful, complicated and scandalous. Her vibrant sense of style comes from her Latin background. It is possible that she embellishes her home so lavishly in order to compensate for something more important that is missing in her life. But, by surrounding herself in color and fashion-forward home decorations, she plays up her beauty and puts on the appearance that all is well. (It works if you don’t know all about her tumultuous relationships). This Kosta Boda bowl is the perfect example of Gabby’s affinity for bright, beautiful objects. We think she would also love:

  Lynette Scavo
aaa We think Lynette decorates her house with contemporary simplicity in order to balance out her hectic and overwhelming family. For this reason we have selected Simon Pearce for her tableware. Its clean lines and minimal decorations are just what she needs to ease the stress of raising five children and attempting to resurrect her business career. What do you think?

  Susan Mayer
aaaa We scoured our TV sets and the web, but couldn’t identify any of Susan’s lovely house trappings. But, we think she would love Anna Weatherly china with its hand painted butterflies, flowers and shimmering gold accents. Susan is sweet, naive, and hilariously clumsy. If her character did have any of this fabulous china, one would have to pray she didn’t break it. See if you agree:
