About Waterford.
The Waterford Crystal story began in 1783 when two brothers, George and William Penrose, started a crystal manufacturing business in the busy port of Waterford, Ireland. The company still has strong links with its roots, though it has expanded to include Waterford china, collectibles, and other items.
Waterford crystal retains the same dedication to the purity of color, design inspiration and to the pursuit of the highest possible level of quality. The traditional cutting patterns made famous by the artisans of Waterford have become favorites all over the world.
