House of Puiforcat

Silverworking dates back to antiquity, but the profession of silversmith truly came of age in the classical period, under the reigns of Louis XIII and Louis XIV of France. During this time, many master silversmiths began to craft the works of art that would breathe into life the grandeur of French and European courts. This tradition remains to this day through silversmith houses such as the House of Puiforcat.

The Parisian silversmith Puiforcat is regarded as one of the legendary names in European silver craftsmanship. Conceived in 2010 by designer Patrick Jouin and Puiforcat workshops, Zermatt flatware draws from the strength and sobriety of steel and writes a new contemporary page in the ever-renewing history of Puiforcat flatware.
